Moving your script past the “Atmosphere” and into the “Action.”
From a professional AFF reader’s perspective.
A great script isn't just a story. It's a financial and creative blueprint. Since 2025, I've been providing critical table read diagnostics for independent projects, and in 2026, I joined the Austin Film Festival (AFF) as a Reader to identify the industry's most competitive narratives.
My mission is to de-risk the development process. I help writers bridge the gap between a “vivid idea” and a “production-ready” asset. By applying a Surgical Diagnostic approach to structure and pacing, I ensure your script does three things:
Building the “internal engines” that keep viewers glued to the screen.
Creating “Performer-Forward” roles that actors are desperate to play.
Polishing the narrative until it represents a sound, marketable, and executable vision for producers and financiers.
I don't just look at what's on the page. I look at what makes the project move.
“Nick pointed out issues with my action lines and pacing that I hadn’t noticed. His feedback helped me see where the script could become clearer.”
